DIY Pumpkin Fall Decor
Hopefully you saw our recent tutorial on how to paint this Buffalo Plaid Wood Crate. If not, be sure to check it out HERE first! I’ll be using it to create this gorgeous Fall Decor DIY. Use this pumpkin wood crate as a centerpiece or to decorate your mantle or coffee table for Fall!
You won’t believe how easy it is to throw this together. One trip to your local craft store is all you need.
Here’s what you’ll need to amp up your Fall Decor:
- Faux autumn floral
- Preserved or faux magnolia leaves
- Faux pumpkins
- Burlap Ribbon
- Staple Gun
- Floral Foam Block
The best thing about this project is that you can totally make it to your own taste!! Go to your local craft store; I actually picked up most of my floral and decor items from Hobby Lobby. The succulent in the center and the pumpkins look so high end! Seriously – like something straight out of Pottery Barn, but way more affordable. Similar version from Hobby Lobby can be found HERE.
1.) First, I used the burlap to cover up the open slots on the side of the crate. Simply cut 2 pieces of the burlap ribbon slightly longer than the length of the crate.
6.) Now for the fun part!! Arranging all of it! I’m going to show you how I did mine – but there’s really no right or wrong way to do this. Be creative and arrange all your goodies however they look good to you!!
The pumpkins I picked up at Hobby Lobby had a stem that was a little too long, so I used wire cutters to snip them shorter.
I then took smaller pieces and layered around them. I used my wire cutter to snip off little pieces to stick in where I wanted.
Days ago, the girls and I went magnolia leaf picking. There is a MASSIVE magnolia tree on our street, so there were plenty of leaves to spare. We preserved them (tutorial coming soon) and I used a few as decor in this centerpiece too.
