I am SO excited to kick off this new series on my blog – Feature Friday!
It’s no new concept, but I have been meeting some amazing people running some killer creative businesses. They are some pretty cool people, so PAY ATTENTION and tune in every Friday for a new business! Each person will have HEART and PASSION in what they do, and they work really really hard to develop and bring you their talents and craft, and they all deserve a little love!
Our first feature is Rebecca Shugart of Joyful Creations Art!
Rebecca and I were both vendors at the Atlanta August Big Fake Wedding. Our tables were next to each other and she is super sweet and fun! I can just tell that we’ll end up being friends 🙂
She is the creative guru behind Joyful Creations Art. She creates beautiful hand lettered products and amazing watercolor paintings!
Here’s a little more about her story!
She lives here in Atlanta with her husband Tyler and her super cute pup, Ava who is a bernedoodle – SO fluffy!!
She actually started out by painting in 2012 to raise money for a year long mission trip. She was just hoping that it would help her pay for some of the smaller expenses like shots and her passport. She ended up selling over 100 paintings! Needless to say, this lit a fire in her. She realized how much she loved painting. When she got home in 2014, she really dove in and spent a lot of her time practicing and learning different techniques.
Fast forward to 2016, when she flipped the switch and turned her hobby into her business – and we’re so glad she took that leap!
Take a peek at some of the stunning pieces she makes as part of her custom wedding invitation suite. These are the pieces she created for The Big Fake Wedding, and they are so awesome! They actually come double sided so that guests can get continued use out of them after the event. The couple can choose a fun quote or something special to them to include on the back.
She truly loves creating custom pieces for people because she knows what it’s like to have an idea in your head but not be able to find it anywhere. It brings her JOY to help them bring those ideas to life. Hence her name – Joyful Creations Art Last year, she really started to focus on wedding details when she was planning her own wedding. Being a part of such a big moment in a person’s life is just so special for her!
Having met her, I know she’ll go far and cannot wait to see where this business takes her and her family! Please take the time to go look at her work for home decor and if you know someone planning a wedding – share her site! You can also go follow her over on Instagram @joyfulcreationsart
