Don’t know what to get someone as a gift? I always say MAKE IT PERSONAL! The best way I know how to do this is by turning memories into something tangible with photos!
You can pick nearly any canvas or substrate that you want. For this particular project, I used rustic wood signs, but I’ve used canvas many times in the past!
Things you will need for this project:
Wood Sign or Canvas
Modge Podge (I prefer Matte finish)
Gather and print the photos you want in the size that you need to fit onto your wood (or whatever you have chosen as a background) I normally print 1 hour at Costco! I also end up buying probably more in-store than I should upon pick up time!
For a little extra visual interest, I like to use a stencil and cut the photo out in a unique shape before I lay it on the wood.
First step is to put one thin coat of modge podge onto the back of the photo first and then lay it where you want it on the wood.
Let it dry for 15-20 mins. More time if you are in a humid climate. Doing this step first will prevent the photo from rippling up.
Lastly, put another coat of modge podge all over the photo and the wood to seal the entire piece. Use the foam brush if you want your coating to look more polished and clear OR you can use a paint brush if you want a fun texture to your finished piece!
That’s it! This makes for a perfect gift for anyone for any occasion and the reaction is priceless when you give it to them!
