Tonight we started what I’m pretty sure will become a new tradition. Normally I’m driving myself crazy and telling the kids not to touch anything in the kitchen. For what?!
I threw all that to the wind for one night and gave the girls more freedom in the kitchen. When I told them they were going to cook dinner, they were so excited!! And it helped make the process fun for everyone. Less stress all around – a big win!!
One took the duty of dinner and the other snagged dessert!
On the menu was something easy; Pizza Wreath
Start by letting your child cut the biscuits up into small pieces. We cut them into 8 pieces each. My daughter is almost 4 so I gave her a butter knife to cut them. She ended up tearing pieces apart and putting them in the bowl as she went along!
Next add in the good stuff! CHEESE! I never claimed that this was a healthy meal. You’ll never catch me doing any kind of diet that cuts out cheese. No way! I say, the more, the better. We put about half in, and saved the other half for sprinkling on top.
She was so proud for putting it together and couldn’t wait for everyone to try it!!
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
I absolutely love this and think we’ll start to do this on a weekly basis.
Do you let your kids help in the kitchen? What are their favorite recipes to make?
