The Big Fake Wedding – Atlanta
The Big Fake Wedding went down here in Atlanta on August 9th and it…was…AMAZING! I had the privilege of being one of the vendors that was hand-curated for the event.
If you haven’t heard of The Big Fake Wedding, it is basically a bridal show alternative in the form of a real fake wedding, complete with an emotional vow renewal ceremony, light bites and a dance party reception. “Wedding Guests” get to experience talented local vendors and their work in action!
I was contacted to be the signage vendor for the event. As my wood sign business was still under a year old, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to grow as a vendor in the wedding niche.
Y’ALL!! (And I saw y’all here, because I believe it packs a little more punch. Even though I’m a midwestern girl and always say You Guys) This event was SO much fun! I hardly felt like I was working. It was straight up a party! A real couple renewed their vows with the sweetest words. The tastiest drinks and food was served up and everyone danced – I mean like really got down, and DANCED!
Each vendor was given an inspiration board to create their items. The best part is that everyone was allowed to truly have creative freedom and use their talents how they wanted! Seeing how it all came together was such a treat!
Here are some of my favorite details from the event.
Many thanks to the amazingly photographers of the event!
To go along with the inspiration board, I wanted to stain the boards with a weathered grey stain and focus on bright white typography with pops of yellow as an accent. For the welcome sign, I wanted that to be nice and bright with a white wash background and grey lettering with a yellow laurel wreath accent – so happy!
Here are the wood signs that I created for the Big Fake Wedding Atlanta.
I also highlighted the custom drinkware with beautiful metallic lettering that I can make for any event.
In a more traditional wedding show, guests also had the opportunity to walk around vendor tables and mingle, learn more about what each business can offer them and collect some sweet swag for their Tote Bags that they received at check in!
Here is what my table looked like
