We’ve all been there at the end of a long winter looking at our drab patio, and dreaming of how we can spruce it up into a dream space we want to hang out during cool summer nights!
Remember that time when everything brown and taupe were SO in?! It’s funny how quickly things can change and how quickly my taste and style can change, but it seemed like suddenly I thought these were hideous.
Enter my favorite solution for fixing everything. Just paint them! No really, I paint anything I can. Including my main floor bathroom faucet and guest room tile floor…I’ll have to cover that in another post.
Back to the planters! Using my favorite spray paints, I gave them new life that not only brought them back on the main stage but also helped add some much needed color and fun on our patio!
I keep an old sheet on hand to lay down and protect surfaces while painting. I flipped all the planters upside down to spray all angles best. When that coat dried, I flipped them right side up and painted the inside as well. I didn’t worry too much about the bottom as it would be covered with dirt when planting.
I decided to play with metallics and paint the old flower vase silver, the small planter metallic gold and the large planter a matte mint color.
I mean, how PERFECT is this gold spray paint from Valspar?!? It’s my favorite tone.
My girls and I went to Lowe’s and I let them pick out their favorit flowers for planting.
Here is the finished look! Such an easy weekend project that adds so much value!
