With most everything in my life, I don’t dabble…I jump all in! Things go from 0 to 60. I’m impulsive and totally have a learn as you go mentality. Fake it til you make it! I wasn’t always like this though. I used to the be the one to dabble, contemplate and weigh all the pros and cons. It might be safe, but for me it only got me into a place of complacency because I would generally talk myself out of something by doing that. If I thought about it for too long, I would normally walk away.
This past year, my husband got me a Silhouette Cameo 3 for my birthday.
I’ve wanted this for a LONG time! I had never used one, but got giddy with excitement at all the things that I could craft and make with it!! Fast forward a couple months, and I have now opened my second Etsy shop called…you guessed it…Grateful to Create. My jewelry has been a passion of mine for years and still is, but with so many of my other crafts taking over the house, this has become a second and more formal outlet for my creativity!
I went to Home Depot, purchased a lot of wood, learned how to use that miter saw in our basement and went to town. The whole shop came together in about 2 weeks. I had tunnel vision. I was motivated. I knew exactly what I wanted to make and couldn’t stop! I thought of everything I wanted myself in my home. I’ve been covered in paint and stain for 2 weeks and the girls have been painting their own projects right beside me! I am proud of what I’ve accomplished with it.
Thank you to all who support my dreams and passion to craft. For those of you considering the same for anything that you are passionate about. If it’s weighing on your heart, I encourage you to JUMP!
